Awesome combo. Both do great work. Mini-Marvels was brilliant and although I'm happy that Super(disturbingeyeballs)Hero Squad is bringing younger readers into the fold, I was sad to see Mini-Marvels go. At least Chris gets to work on his own creation now though.

Mike & Remy always sneak something out of those discussions that never make it onto CBR and Newsarama and such. Case in point: the Tony Moore interview.
I knew something was up when Moore was talking about the Walking Dead show on AMC and mentioned that he'd "washed his hands" of it. Nobody references Pontius Pilate for something they feel really good about.
A bit later we get to the piece where Moore reveals that he assumed he had a piece of Walking Dead, and that Kirkman had other ideas and also complained about his speed.
Now, we don't know what was actually said or what contracts were signed, or what deal was worked out after that. (Moore seemed to imply that they came to some vaguely mutual agreement upon splitting) But in my opinion WMD kinda scooped the story that Moore got HOSED by Kirkman on his co-creatorship on the most important independent book of the last decade. That's pretty strong stuff!
Tony was enough of a statesman not to take a giant dump on Kirkman publicly, and it's a tough line of questioning to push. I thought Remy handled it perfectly by taking it lighter and going for the "Kirby estate" joke with it, trying to tease a little more out. What is that, TACT from REMY!!! Surely this is a sign of the impending apocalypse! : )
At any rate, another fantastic interview, guys...

Thanks man. We too felt that we had hit upon a touchy subject. We could have pressed and got a lot more, but that's not really what we're about. Hard hitting journalists we are not. It is neat that our show was maybe the first time the subject has been broached in such a way.
Wait until you hear the Tom Brevoort interview. I clearly bait him at one point and he basically shuts me down outright. Pretty funny stuff.

Regarding Moore/Kirkman: You know, it's funny how I came to learn about these events--I had heard about it from the other side by way of Scott Kurtz's (of PvP) Podcast when he referenced Moore. Kurtz, oddly enough seemed to have a bit thinly veiled sarcastic streak against Moore for whatever reason--he couldn't even be bothered to remember his name; I suspect it's because he and Kirkman are friends, but I could be wrong and am drawing conclusions that aren't there. I think, however, Kirkman may be taking a page out of the Todd McFarlane playbook of screwing creative partners. There's a lesson here: kids... as difficult and awkward it is, make sure everyone knows where they stand with creative endeavors. Never assume anything.

Well now, thanks to WMD, we all know that there is definitely some animosity there. Too bad, it would be really cool to see Tony Moore return to the independent book that made him a star. Until then I guess we'll have to settle for him working for the TOP PUBLISHER IN THE INDUSTRY! Poor us.

HAHA....Ya, poor Johnny Son of a Bitch.
And to be honest with you Ryan, it wasn't tact that made me tip toe around the Kirkman/Moore subject, it was......the embarrassment of asking a question that might already be public knowledge. To find out later it was just me that didn't know. HAHA But now that I think about it, not every question can be a question that has never been asked before. Glad you guys enjoyed the interview. Mike & I had a blast talking to Tony & Chris.
