Although I remember the cartoons of the 80's like most of my peers (G.I. Joe, Smurfs, Transformers, Gummi Bears, Snorks, Galtar, etc.), my more endearing memories are reserved for the stuff from the 70's (Batman, Hong Kong Phooey, Blue Falcon, Speed Buggy) and the reruns from the 60's that were playing as well (Peter Potamus [did you get that thing I sent you?], Johnny Quest, the Herculoids, Space Ghost ).
Well, imagine my chagrin when I discover these 2-Disc collections from Hanna-Barbera/WB/DC:
There were a number of shows like the Hillbilly Bears, which I didn't recognize in name, but upon seeing an episode, they became instantly familiar as well.
For fans of animation in general, this is a great cross section of early, mass produced television work from the U.S. in the 60's, right into the glut of wonderful ideas and echoes of Scooby-Doo in the 70's. The shortcuts to reduce production costs employed in most of the shows, are charming (at least to me) and showed a marked difference from the earlier cinema work from the McCay or the Fleischers.
All great stuff!

I got mine (and so far, have only seen them at) the box store that shall remain un-named. Rhymes with Mall Fart.

Yes. I bought my DVD's from Paul Blart. His prices are better than his choice of movie roles.
