My gosh, you Canadians really know how to put on a show. I'm not a patriot really and surely I am not a fan of the Olympics, past the point of finding some of it interesting. But last night when my wife forced me to watch the opening ceremonies, I was impressed with how you Canadians made me feel welcome in your country.
This sounds a little cheesy and I guess in some ways it is, but man what a great time that was. I applaud you on your countries way of showing off. That was really fucking sweet last night and I am glad I watched it. To hear how Canadians have been our strongest and most loyal allies throughout the past hundred years or so, was really eye watering and inspirational.
Cheers on you guys, I am half French Canadian and half Lakota Indian/Norwegian and during the performance I felt more like my home country was hosting the Olympics than when the selfish and bloated USA host. We would NEVER have native american indians in our opening ceremony, I'm sure we'd have children running around named after people from Pandora, rather than celebrating our diverse and interesting past. We shun our past down here and rely mostly on our conquests and economics problems/triumphs. I know I live only 250 miles from the Canadian border and it's a well known fact that my ancestors were very much French-Canadian fur traders, I still don't really feel like an American. And after last night, I want to be Canadian instead of living in this delusional land of the Free.
I am NEVER moved to writing shit like this and as you shouldn't feel blessed that I took time out to write it (I'm not your common selfish American), I wanted to express how good of a job you did on showing your country off last night. I don't think that will be forgotten for a while, and probably never forgotten by me.
