Are you a fan of Blaxsploitation flicks like Super Fly, Coffee, Foxy Brown or the like? Did you watch Black Dynamite recently or Pootie Tang not as recently, and laughed your ass off? Well check out Afrodisiac from Jim Rugg & Brian Maruca, creators of Street Angel, which was just published by AdHouse Books. To coin AdHouse's tagline: "There’s cats, gats, spats, and feathered hats… action as big as a Georgia ham and wool so fine it'll blow your mind! Lock up your daughters, come hell or high water, cause here comes the king of the concrete jungle!" The art has been treated to look like comics from the 70's and even includes a number of covers that are almost worth the price of admission alone. For goofy fun and a lead character who's a bad muthah... I'm just talkin' about Afrodisiac. You may also want to check out Infinite Kung-Fu from Toronto's Kagan McLeod.
