Issue # 101 Relax, it's only DNA! Chronic Insomnia - The Worlds Worst Comic Book Podcast. Issue # 101. Ryan's reading this book, some of you may have heard of it, it's called "Y The Last Man" and go figure, he likes it. Manatee Weight Loss 2009 continues with a minor setback for one of us. Can Ryan return to the treadmill without exploding his shins? Tune in to find out. It's another great issue of Chronic Insomnia as we talk about our friends in Canada and Chicago, our new favorite podcasts, Where Monsters Dwell and Comic Book Queers. We love the all of you. Michael

Episode # 102 A 17 Inch Fat Cobra? Interested in the latest news coming out of the San Diego ComiCon? Neither are we. Although we are sort of obligated to touch on some CCI items, like Marvel's acquisition of Miracle Man. Which is actually pretty exciting. Serious. More importantly, we delve into the less well known but certainly more lethal Brooklyn Center ComicCon. It's the sort of hard hitting Eisner nominated journalism you've come to expect from us. All this and a Great Moment in Fantasy featuring a 17 inch Fat Cobra? It's almost enough Chronic goodness to compensate for the foul recycled cloud of onion ring shart spray lurking in the studio. Almost. Will Ryan's cilia recover for next weeks show, tune in and find out. Check out our friends at Where Monsters Dwell and Comic Book Queers and don't forget they don't really endorse us because we're vulgarians. We love the all of you. The Chronic Crew

Does this invitation involve us dressing up as Little Bo Peep? If so I think you want to extend that invitation to Ryan only. He's the Cosplay fella in our little comic book marriage.
Thanks for the vote of "Hi-Larry-ous". We really appreciate that. We were both so burnt that night we could barely do the show. Ryan was pissed off at his work and just coming down from being fuming mad about an hour before and I had gotten like three hours of sleep the night before. We tend to roleplay a little long on Sunday nights sometimes and I didn't get to sleep until around 4am and then I was woken up by the kids at 7am, so it was pretty tough that day.
We are lucky we just made sense that night. Thanks for listening and we can't wait to hear from you guys this week. It's a good idea to do a mini-sode just to keep your fans happy. Good luck tonight guys. We have to work some sort of Skype joint show or something in the future, either that or just have one of you guys call in to our show on Monday night.
Talk to you soon.
Michael

I just thought it would be nice to put some photos up that show where Chronic Insomnia is recorded each and every Monday night. Here's a wide angle photo of Studio B. And here is the computer and 24 inch monitor used to make the magic. Here is the mixer/Hard Drive recorder we use to mix the microphones into Garageband. Just thought everyone might like to see where we make our magic each week. Now back to your regular scheduled program. Michael

Is that a G5, or Intel PowerMac?

It's a G5 1.8Mhz Non-intel, it's the old and reliable. I have a MacBookPro that is an Intel 2.4mhz but that's not a permanent enough computer to use for the show. I mean I don't like to set that up each time I want to record us. I have many computers, including an even older 1.25ghz G4 iMac 17 (lampshade model) for the recording studio in my garage. I am a sound nut.
I also have one of those evil Dell computers for my kids. They like it and I hate it. But it works for the cheapy games you can get for it.
It's a nice setup and it works GREAT every week. I have almost 2 terabytes of space that is nearly 3/4 full. It's incredible how much each show takes up. It's about 2.5GB per show and that doesn't include and the many extras we use each week.

That things got a killer microphone built in though. I would kill for something that high-tech. I can tell you guys have Tony Stark type money up there in Canada. It must be all the savings you get from having government issued Health Care. That would explain all your wild spending money and being able to afford a "Speak and Spell".
Honestly though, your first show at CHSR did sound like it was ACTUALLY recorded on that vintage piece of childrens electronics. I hope you were going for that kind of sound, if so then it was GREAT.
I hope to hear your new show soon.
